Francisco Quintanar joined the National Electricity and Telecommunication Regulatory Commission in 2019 as the Energy Director coordinating areas such as national and regional electrical market, national transmission infrastructure, distribution utilities, and renewable energy. He previously worked as Energy Manager at the Chamber of Industry of El Salvador. He was the National Coordinator of the Renewable Energy Development Unit for 5 years. Mr. Quintanar served from 2016 to 2019 as the industrial sector representative in the National Energy Council Standing Advisory Committee and was a member of the board of directors of the National Grid Operator – UT.Mr. Quintanar holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from John Brown University in United States, a Masters in Renewable Energy from Universidad Don Bosco in El Salvador, and a specialization in Project management and Finance from Universidad Centro Americana in El Salvador.
